Project by Iker Gálvez, Mees
Jenneke and Elena Moreno
First we are going to go back to our original goals and evaluate if we actually achieved them or not.
This were our goals when we did the first presentation, the project plan. Cover the needs of the interns in the residence, helping the nurses, trying to help the elderly have a good time, have a great time ourselves and finish the project with great feelings and memories left.
As for the first one, we accomplished it quite well, since we did our full best to help the interns of the residence…
As for the second one, we think we achieved it because we were always prepared and ready to help the nurses in everything, like for example, giving the interns their dinner, transporting some interns in wheelchairs, even went to la Cañada we with them.
The third goal was a bit more of a challenge since we were all a bit shy at first, but later on, when the three magic kings came, as we told you in the last presentation, we opened up a bit more and entertained the interns, it was quite fun.
Our fourth goal was very easy to achieve since the whole group had a great time helping together the interns. For example, the trip to la Cañada was very entertaining since we talked with the nurses in a van for the whole trip.
Our fifth goal was even easier to accomplish, we really had a great experience and made a lot of memories with these people.
We had some difficulties during this project, like for example, it was difficult for all of us to set a date where we could all go help in the residence even though everything turned out well. And when we finally figured out a date and got there, at first we didn't even know how to talk how or treat the elderly people until we got used to it, and opened up.
One thing we could have done better was the fact that we could have done some more entertaining with the elderly people, like for example, go for a walk with them, go to some parks, read something for them…
The other improvement we could face was the fact that when we came back from la Canada, we didn’t help the nurses unpack everything because of the late time, even though they said it was no problem for them.
now we will be talking about the team effectiveness assessment. We’re going to evaluate our works as a team during this project.
As we said before, the first day there was the most difficult because we weren’t used to being around people like them. But as we continued going and we continued talking to them and the nurses we actually started to like it and even made some friends. So we didn't just learned about how to work in a project like this as a team, but also how to work helping other people that are in difficult conditions.
We obviously encountered some issues during this experience, but we were able to solve them. One problem we had was for example our encounter with an old lady who we were supposed to help to get to her room, because she was in a wheelchair, but she refused to let us help her and started to get a little bit nervous, until we finally talked to one of the nurses and solve the whole situation.
As for the performance evaluation we will highlight the following points:
I think we did quite well at this first point because we all attended to the different meetings we agreed with the nurses, except for one day, the day we went to the Cañada, which sadly was not possible for Elena to come with us.
About the second point, among group participants and the nurses, the communication was great, even though sometimes the communication with the elderly people was a little difficult since it wasn't easy to maintain a conversation with them.
We managed to get everything we needed done before any of out meetings with the nurses so we did pretty good at following the specific deadlines.
Last but not least we will be talking about our personal performance. On the following slides we will be assessing ourselves about our work during this project. We will each give our own opinion about how we did.
As we said before and on the other presentation, our interaction with the nurses was actually pretty good but at the other hand, when we needed to start interacting with the interns of the residence, it was a bit awkward at first, but we opened up later on during the project. However the facilities were great, everything was really clean and well organized it was a pleasure getting to help the elderly people in a place like that.
Now we’re going to assess ourselves regarding the pronunciation, tone and intonation, posture, grammar mistakes and anxiety and stress
Mees: Considering this evolution about our presentation, I think that my pronunciation hasn’t made drastic change , as for my tone and intonation, it has improved a bit in my opinion thanks to some feedback. Then as for my posture I think it has improved a lot compared to my first presentation although I could still improve it much more.
As for my grammar mistakes, I recognize that I’m improving in my writing because of all this presentations, then at last I got the anxiety and the stress, at the beginning, when we all started doing this presentations, I faced some anxiety, but little by little I left it behind and faced the public, if i can say it in that way.
Elena: In my case, I think my pronunciation hasn’t had much change.About my tone and intonation,I guess I have improved a little bit.My posture, the anxiety and stress have improved only a little because I don’t really like to speak in public and I’m usually get very nervous.
Speaking of grammar mistakes,in my opinion I’m improving because thanks to these presentations I’m learning to express myself
Iker: Regarding the pronunciation I think I’ve improved a little, mostly when it comes to little details. I try to make my tone as firm and loud as possible so everyone can hear me and I think it has improved a little from the first presentation, maybe because I have also gained a little bit of confidence too. Thanks to all the feedback and the tips from the teacher I’ve been trying to be more careful about my posture during the presentation, so I think that is also better now than it was at the beginning of the year. I always double check what I’m going to say before every presentation to avoid any grammar mistakes, however I still make the, but I also did that before the first presentation so in my opinion my grammar mistakes have not gotten better. My anxiety before and during the presentations its been the most improved aspect about me I think, I remember at first I was so nervous before a presentation, now I just kind of go with it and be confident. I think all of this improvements came thanks to all of the practices and presentations we’ve done and all the feedback we have been given after these.
- Different ways in which we can help elderly people.
- That it’s actually fun and really fulfilling helping this people.
- How easy is to volunteer for causes that really matter and that we should do it more often.
We learned to feel affection and appreciation for those people who tried at all times to help us in everything they could and who did everything possible to transmit some of the lessons they have learnt from live, to be better people and to reach out to everyone who needs it.
We think that volunteering is very important because it teaches you two basic motivations for the future such as solidarity and altruism. In addition, it is a nice way to help people who needs it, where you can contribute a grain of sand that will help change the world. Maybe, volunteering can help you find yourself too, who knows if it becomes your passion after you try it?
Yes of course, volunteering allows us to work as a team, which is essential in a job. A volunteering experience takes you out of your routine, out of your comfort zone, and places you in a very different one where you will have to develop new skills or polish others as much as adaptation to changes, respect, etc
Definitely, yes.We believe that this is an experience worth living and that it will help us in many aspects of our lives, so it would be convenient for students next year to do this activity. It will help them feel good about themselves and with the rest of people.

Hello everyone! This is my first presentation. I couldn't do the previous ones, because there
were many problems with my organization (Asprodisis). I hope you enjoy my presentation.
Many thanks.
Hello everyone, my name is Pablo and with my partners, we are going to talk about our
project.
These topics are going to be talked!
Well, as you know, we are Edu, Manolo and Pablo and today we are going to explain
to all of you what we have done in the nursing home.
to all of you what we have done in the nursing home.
First of all, we have to say that we went for the first time recently. Why? Because there
were a problem with our authorization at Asprodisis and we couldn’t do our volunteering
project in there. So we decided to go to HERMANITAS DE LOS POBRES and do it.
It was a terrific experience!

There are many essential things you have to offer to the people who live in there. Firstly,
you have to be patient with the residents. Because it’s very important to understand them.
you have to be patient with the residents. Because it’s very important to understand them.
Also you need to show a huge smile, because you have to convey them good feelings.
And finally, to be nice is exceptional if you want to be there.
It is and it isn't. This answer has an explanation. On the one hand, I’ve said no,
because at the time we went, we had crowd of exams and it was difficult to us.
because at the time we went, we had crowd of exams and it was difficult to us.
On the other hand, we had fun and we learned a lot and above all it was an unbelievable experience. Worthwhile, of course.
Principally, the people who received our help were between 65 years-old and over.
People of both gender (female and male). They have a particularity, they can’t live along,
because they have health problems and they must be taken care in everytime.

They used to get up early, and immediately to have breakfast. After that, they go for a
walk around Ronda or some place near the nursing home. After lunch they are together
and they play some board game or just talk until the dinner. Finally they go to bed.

We just have 3 hours in there, because the organization didn’t have more time to us, and also we are so busy. But, we would like to come back to spend more time.
Well this is the end of the presentation and thank you so much for your attention.
Do you have any question?

This is my third-term presentation. It is about my assessment of my work. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for my project assessment!
NOTE: Irene, my partner, isn't doing Bachillerato anymore. Therefore, I did the last presentation on my won. Anyway, I hope nothing but the best for her.
Hello, as you know I’m María and I’m going to assess my volunteering
at the nursing home “Glorieta of San José”.
at the nursing home “Glorieta of San José”.
Before anything, I have to say I will do this presentation on my own due to my
partner Irene have took off Bachillerato. However, I’m using “we” or ”us”
because we worked together almost all the project. Last but not least, I will try
to do my best and I hope you like it.
Along this presentation, I will assess my original goals, the
effectiveness of the team, my personal performance and my feedback.
effectiveness of the team, my personal performance and my feedback.
I’ll begin by assessing my original goals.
When we started this volunteering, back in October, we had four goals:
1) Help the most we could the elderly people by cheer them up and make
2) Help the workers in there in their day-to-day activities.
3) To create an emotional bond with the people we were going to work.
4) Teach the elderly new things while we learnt from them.
But, how did we achieve them?
My evaluation about our main goals is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAnC_qrsskM
very positive!
To me, the most important goal was the first : help the elderly people and made
them happier . In the beginning, it was a little bit difficult because we didn’t know
anyone and we didn’t know how to act . But, in the end, everyone trusted us and
was delighted to see us. Even the old people seemed to be happier when we
were there!

anyone and we didn’t know how to act . But, in the end, everyone trusted us and
was delighted to see us. Even the old people seemed to be happier when we
were there!
If I did this again , I would be more confident to make them happier since the first
second.
The second goal ( help the workers at the nursery home ) was important
as well. They are people who work hardly. Even so, they were always gentle
and kind. Sometimes, I think they were more helpful for us than we were for
them!
as well. They are people who work hardly. Even so, they were always gentle
and kind. Sometimes, I think they were more helpful for us than we were for
them!
At first, we didn’t know how to talk to them and ask them for advice, but we
quickly connected and understood well. I would suggest to my past “me” being
less shy and more extrover.
Okay , as you can see, the third goal was focused on knowing the people we
were going to work, and creating an emotional bond with them (as much with the
workers as the elderly ).
were going to work, and creating an emotional bond with them (as much with the
workers as the elderly ).
Did we make it? I think so. The last day, everyone were sentimental . We had
spent a great time together, and we (the workers, the elderly, uselves ) were
affected with our leaving .
Could we have done it better? I guess. However, I think this was the most
successful goal, and the one we must be more proud about.
Last but not least, we had a fourth goal : learning from the elderly at the
same time we may taught them new things .
same time we may taught them new things .
In my opinion, we really achieved this the third day. We spent the afternoon
asking them questions about what it was like to live/how was living when they
were younger, and then we compared it with how we live now . In this way, we
both got an interesting and useful learning.
I would not change anything from this day. To me, it was perfect.
Now, I will evaluate our effectiveness as a team. Due to Irene isn’t
here, my own evaluation will be done in the next part: personal assessment.
here, my own evaluation will be done in the next part: personal assessment.
To get started , I’m going to share with you a problem we had before
our first visit.
We argued because I was going away for Christmas and I didn't ask my parents
when we were going. I forgot to tell Irene and we planned everything without
noticing .
Obviously, we couldn’t do it in the schedule we programmed, and Irene was a
little bit upset. I finally recognised I made a mistake, and so did she. It was great
because at last we both were mature enough to apologize and re-planned the
volunteering.

volunteering.
Everything went okay after that so, I can say we were a great team!
Like I said a few slides ago, I will assess Irene’s work through the
following points:
following points:
- Her attendance at meetings was perfect: she was always punctualand ready to work.
- As we have been friends for a long time, we have a great connection and
understanding, so the communication was great. However, sometimes we
didn't totally comprehend each other.
- Irene was always giving new ideas and she was interested in the topic. In fact, the same day the job was assigned to us, she started looking for
information and activities we could do. Also, she was very creative doing
the presentation.
- Besides, Irene produced the work she should within our timetable.
However, I have to say we both left some things to do until the previous
days , but we finally did the presentation the best we could.
- As I said, Irene was very participative and creative, so the elaboration of
documents couldn’t have been better.
Eventually , I can say Irene was a great partner and we made a great team.
What I liked the most about us working together was we complemented each
other , so we did a competent job.
Now, I would like to show you some work from my partner.
Now, I will assess my personal performance .
This is a tough part. It always takes an effort to do self- criticism , but I
will try to be objective and honest.
will try to be objective and honest.
I judge my work positively . I think I have worked hard and the best I could, and I
have improved along the year. I had initiative with the volunteering and with the
presentations, starting them the earlier I could (though sometimes I finished
them the previous days) and made them the more aesthetic I knew.
To be honest, I wasn’t very passionate about this work, but I tried to see the
good side of this and I focused on the learning and the rewards. It was a totally
new experience for me, and if I didn’t make the grade, at least I have tried.
I think I am a kind and patient person, so I applied that to my work. I
was always gentle and happy, and I tried to do my best for the elderly and the
workers. Also, I kept open-minded to new ideas and suggestions from my
partner. Likewise, I listened throughout the year the advices my classmates and
my teacher gave to me about my English. To conclude, I think I could have done
some things better, but I tried my best.

Considering my presentations, I made a chart with the points I think I
have improved (or worsened) throughout the year.
have improved (or worsened) throughout the year.
- Pronunciation : I think I have improved my pronunciation but I am always
looking for better.
- Tone and intonation : I am not very sure about this point. I suppose I
have improved since my first presentation, but I think I can do it better.
- Posture : I always try to look confident and relaxed though I may not feel it.
So, that’s a tick for me.
- Space management : I think I managed well my space, but I can improve.
- Grammar mistakes : to be honest, I had more grammar mistakes the
second term than the first term, so for this time I have tried to fix it by reviewing several times the presentation and the script.
- Anxiety and stress management : I am a stressed person by nature, so
any presentation or exam gives me stress. This term I have tried to be
more relaxed. For that reason, I did this presentation two weeks ago and I
studied it day by day.
any presentation or exam gives me stress. This term I have tried to be
more relaxed. For that reason, I did this presentation two weeks ago and I
studied it day by day.
Did I believe in the project I was doing?
This is a hard question.
On one hand, it was an unexpected and original project. I would have never
imagined I would have done a volunteering as an English’s work . At first, I was
skeptical about it. I thought it would took a lot of precious time, and I was not
really convinced . On the other hand, I also wouldn’t expected such beautiful and
enriching experience. It is said volunteering is one of the most wonderful
experiences in the world, and it is said for a reason!.
Last, but not least, I will talk about my feedback.
My improvement ideas are very related with my goal assessment. As
I said, if I went back to October, I would be more confident and extrovert. Also, I
would plan better the visits and I would try to be more communicative with my
partner. At last, I would start earlier the presentations and I would practice more
my script.

would plan better the visits and I would try to be more communicative with my
partner. At last, I would start earlier the presentations and I would practice more
my script.
Along this volunteering I have learnt a lot of things. But the most important were
four:
four:
- Patience.
- Dedication.
- Organization.
- Fellowship.
Also, while I was doing these three projects I have experienced these four
emotions. I had to organize my time, I had to be patience, I had to be dedicated
to what I was doing, and I worked the most of the time with a strong feeling of
fellowship.
I took out of this experience new learnings and a new point of view on
volunteering. My thoughts can be resume in the beautiful and the useful
experience it is. Everyone should do volunteering in subjects they are
appassionate with to facing the future. For example, I don’t know yet what I want
to study, but I’m sure I will need the empathy and the fellowship I have learnt.
The only thing left is if I would recommend this project to other students. Well, I
don’t know if it is very incoherent with what I have said, but I would not
recommend it. In one hand, this new experience is very valuable and useful. On
the other hand, it takes away a lot of time of your holidays or free time. I will
always recommend do volunteering, but in another way. Maybe in summer,
maybe less hours or maybe with only one presentation. Anyway, I’m very
grateful for living this experience and I hope the following students will live it in
one way or another.
And that’s all. Thanks you for your attention!
Any questions?
This is the end of the presentation. I really hope you liked. I put a lot of work and effort on this, and I think it shows.Any questions?
Thanks, again, for your attention. See you soon!
María
Project by Marta Sánchez and María Cuevas
Good morning everybody, we are María and Marta and we are going to present our project.
Today we are going to talk about our assessment project for our volunteering in Ayuca association.
And these are some of the points that we are going to discuss in this powerpoint. Any question you wish to ask can be answered at the end of this presentation.
To begin with, we will remember our three objectives at the beginning of volunteering
and if we have managed to make them :
- “Help and support people who need us as much as possible”: Well... we have to say that we tried to help everyone who needed us.. Within what could be done, we did the best we could. So at least, as i see it, this goal has been achieved.
- “Make people have fun with us and us with them”: I think this is the goal we should be most proud of. Since we got the facilities we have experience a lot of great moments that I can assure they will keep fondly. At least we think so.
- “Get used to teamwork”: This goal was fundamental for us. Mainly because our volunteering consisted in the union of all of us to help those people who suffer in some way the consequences of Cancer.
We didn't have any problem at all, so we could say this goal has also been achieved.
In the execution of this project we found a great variety of difficulties they had to face:
- Exams_ Time: Like you´ve already know we're not in an essay year. It wasn't always simple to balance these kind of activities with all the stuff we had to do and study.
- Self-confident_ Impotence:Another problem that freaked us out was when we had to deal with the fear of not being good enough or not being as well prepared as we needed to be to be able to help others and continue with our project successfully. And, of course, the impotence this fact wore. Everything was just too stressing!
We could definitely have manage better our time and try to trust more in what we were doing. Maybe if we had tried to be more optimistic everything would have been easier.
Well as we have told you in our second presentation,we were too nervous at the beginning of the volunteering, so at first we used to arrive like twenty minutes before the start of each session. We could say we were too strict in that regard so we used to be always on time.
___Do you think were there effective communication and contribution to discussion between us and the association?
- ___ In my point of view, the communication has always been quite good. It wasn't too difficult to keep in touch the association itself, also we have always been willing to help and contribute in everything we could, so….
What do you think about us ?
___Yeah, we just talked and discuss about our ideas and which one was the best way to carry out them. Generally we agreed with each other, so we had no problem.
We did our "Non-voluntary" volunteering project during Christmas and we did a little more than 10 hours of volunteering, which were the corresponding ones.
___And do you remember if we found some information of interest?
- ___ Yes, of course. We attended a little volunteering course to train us as such. We learnt how to interact with the association´s users, as well as some extra information. For example they told us about how could we donate our hair. Does it ring a bell?
And now let's talk about the contribution to elaborate the documents...if we're referring to this presentation and its script, it's just to point out the fact that this wasn't the first time i worked with María, neither it would be the last one, unfortunately.
About this matter we ought to say that despite we had initiative and self motivation to carry out this project, both of us were too nervous at the starting of the volunteering .
Well… none of us are really introverted. Maybe I´m a little shy, but it's not a really big deal. We just loved interacting with all those people we've never met before as well as those places where we´ve never been previously. It was such a lovely opportunity to improve our speaking skills…
___ If you don't get it, she's being kind of sarcastic.
__During the execution of this project we've learnt a lot. These are some of those things we´ve found more interesting to talk about.
- keep an eye on everything
- Trust each other
- Act in complicated situations
- Enjoy news experiences
- Be patient
- Listen
- Pronunciation: Not as bad as it could be. (encogerse de hombros)
- Tone and intonation: My dear, could you sing for me?
- ___ Are you kidding me?... After all this time?
- ____ … Always
- Posture: (Mirar a Marta, dar una vuelta a su alrededor) Pretty fine, nice one.
- Space management: (mirar alrededor) Perfect!
- Grammar mistakes: We will leave that to the teacher's decision.
- Stress and anxiety: hahaha We´re still working on that
Well… we find essential the existence of this kind of association to help all the people that are in need. So yes, we believe in it.
If we went back to October, we would have done three specific things in a different way.
- Be more optimistic
- Manage better the time
- Get involved a bit more at volunteering
It has been an unforgettable experience and we will always be very grateful for this lovely opportunity that we have had to collaborate and help so many people. So thanks.
Although we are from the baccalaureate of science and people think that this type of activities don’t contribute in anything, obviously they help us to develop some very important social skills, needed in any career.
Of course, all of us should have the opportunity to collaborate in such a charming activity.
However we think that the project should had been carried out in early school years, because in 1st of Bachillerato is too difficult to have enough time for do all you want to do.
Thanks for your attention, if you have any question, it will be a pleasure to answer it.

Our original goals were to help old people and learn new things about how to help these kind of people or learn to be more patient and polite.
We think that we have achieved them really well, because the staff congratulated us and also all the people there were happy when we were there.
We have learn many things about social skills. For example we have learnt how to treat with elderly people and how to talk with them.
We learned a lot of things there and i specially thing that we learned a lot of take the problem by the best way, and how to take the leadership when the situation requires. Furthermore i think we improved a lot the personals skills in every visit there.
All the meetings were very interesting in fact all were emotioned with the content and the people that we were meeting there.
talking about punctuality we were extremely punctual with the hour accorded the days before. That is because we wanted to do our best taking all the time as possible.
I think we were nice on the communication and there we were always looking for help people that could needed.
Also we did the documents on time and we have made our best.
Both of us were motivated because it was our first time as volunteer and we wanted to learn new things about volunteering.
- Determination at the time of interacting with:
People
We interacted well with the people there, even we talk about their life and other things like our interest in football or food. We also talk with the staff to organise all the activities that we did there. Even they told us some problems that they usually had with old people and how they deal with it.
Area
Since our first visit we feel like at home. We learned about the place and the distribucion of it. So we were always moving with freedom.
First of all, we think that we have improved our pronunciation, our tone and even our intonation. For example at the beginning of the year couldn't speak loud and now i think that i can do it, at least a little bit better.
Secondly, we also have learn to management the space and the posture. But we have to learn more about this.
Thirdly, regarding to grammar mistakes, we have learnt about commons mistakes and commit less mistakes.
And last of all, we also have learnt about how to management our stress and anxiety.
Probably a better organising of the plans but I think that we got adapted to this situation very easily and we take the plans good at least so we did well in fact.
- I really enjoyed talking and interacting with the people.
-Give everything always in my life.
-Be kind with the olders.
-Happiness→ I felt extraordinary well when i saw the smiles there and the people having a good time only for our visit. This was something that i loved because for me was a little bit of stand there and they were always smiling and passing good when we were there.
I think that volunteering is something that dont cost anything for the person but can easily make happy other people that need it.
My career don't go in this direction but now i think that when i just get free time I will spend it on help people that need it . Because is a very simple thing that can improve the live of the people.
I highly recommend this project for the next year's students, I spended a great time there and i would like to do again. Only an advice: Make ours plans early because if you pass later you will have a lot of things and you are going to see more difficult.

Project by Jasmine Hulland and Ana Gil
Our main objectives were to help the people in the Ayuca association to have a better quality of life. We didn't help them directly but we did raise money to help them
One problem we faced was when no one knew how to tighten up their skates and we both had to help them.
We were both on time in all the occasions when we volunteered. When we went to Ayuca and when we volunteered at the ice skating rink.
We were always together helping each other and communicating with one another. And we also communicated very well with the clients because we were always polite, educated and very helpful.
(Ana) When I was doing my volunteering I would always think about how this benefits people who need help.
(Jasmine) I was definitely nervous at first, but then I realised that it was an amazing opportunity to help people in need.
I think we were great volunteers because we helped a lot of people with their skates. We also helped the little kids to skate and put their skates on. We picked up all the skates after they had finished using them and put them back in pairs.
We have both been in the Alameda many times so we both knew where the ice skating rink was.
(Ana) I haven't improved on anything, the only thing that has changed is that I have more anxiety and i have forgotten al the grammar.
(Jasmine) I think my pronunciation is the same as when we started this project as is my grammar. But I think I have improved on my tone and posture because I don't get as nervous as I used to, even though I still get nervous.
(Ana) I would definitely study more
(Jasmine) I would of liked to take part in the three kings procession because it looked great, but we didn't have time.
Three things we have learnt during this project is:
- We learnt to skate
- Be patient with customers
- Volunteering is fun and you get to help people that need it
Accomplishment
Volunteering is an amazing way to spend your time, especially during the holidays when you have more free time. It is great to volunteer and help people who need it instead of wasting time on your mobile phone.
PROJECT BY MARÍA, JAVIER AND ISRAEL
Our
objectives were: to get the established hours of volunteering and to
help all possible people which had problems related to cancer
We
think that everyone have achieved our goals and we have done this
project having a great time with the other volunteers
During
volunteering, we have found situations that we have not known what to
do and how we could help them, they were very oppressive situations.
The
most important thing to improve is to stay calm at all times and not
be overwhelmed. Also, we could improve our treatment with the other
people and maybe our empathy.
In
the time we have done the volunteering we have had differents
meetings and we have been always punctually. Also, in the activities
with the organisation our punctually have been always correct,
although we live in different villages near to Ronda.
In
general there was a good communication, there has not been any kind
of problem and we got along quite well between us, so in the group
there was a good atmosphere
All
the participants of this project have meet the 10 hours of
volunteering required within the established deadline. In the
volunteering we did the required hours during the meetings and the
volunteering in the ice rink.
During
the elaboration of the work, javi was in charge more of the grammar
and the formal aspects, Maria was in charge to prepare the
presentation and to leave it well and Israel was in charge to look
for the images.
In
all the time we have spent during this project we have had initiative
because we wanted
to do the volunteering and we asked them to do it.
And we had a
great motivation within our group which helped us to be a
better volunteer.
María: I
think so, that there has been a certain evolution in my position, in
trying not to get so nervous and in the pronunciation. I also believe
that I have improved in terms of grammar mistakes since I have been
studying all year
Israel:
The way I see it, all year long I’ve been progressing on my
posture, and my management of the space and the anxiety during my
expositions. Even so, still a long way to go. I hope next year I will
be still progressing on that.
Javi:
I think so too because i have felt that i have change a lot. In the
beginning i was very shy and i have a lots of difficulties to speak
to the public but now i felt more comfortable. I also have improved
my pronunciation because of the study, and my tone and intonation.
Finally, i think my posture is better too.
Javi:
if i went in october i would improve the things i said before, like
the shy, the posture or the intonation.
Israel:
Like Javi said, personally i would have started improving the
aforementioned. And in group, we may should have started earlier with
the presentations, because we accumulated a lot of work of others
subjects.
María:
I would improve my way of speaking in public, try not to get so
nervous and try to interact with the public
María:
I have learned not to get so nervous during the presentations, I have
learned how the AYUCA organization works and also that helping does
not cost anything.
Israel:
I’ve learnt how AYUCA works, and the presentations help me improve
on my english expositions. In addition i’ve learnt that there are
really good people out there helping others purportless.
Javi:
Thanks to this project i have learned it,s a volunteering and how
it,s works, to be less nervious and more comfortable in the
presentations and to treat with other people.
MARÍA:
while volunteering, I felt good about myself, I felt an inexplicable
feeling but with what you feel very good.
Israel:
i have felt accomplished, because i know with my work i was helping
people who really need it.
Javi:
although we couldn,t help people who isn´t good about cancer i have
felt very good helping people in the ice rink.
Javi: i think that this
volunteering is a good way to better your treatment with the people
and to make you feel better too. And in the future, it could help me
if i have to work with other workmates because i could have a better
complicity with them.
María: I
would like to study nursing, so this volunteering would be a great
experience when dealing with people.
Israel:
I won’t ever regret of do a volunteering, because it makes you a
better person. But relating it with my future career i think it
doesn’t helps me at all.
Absolutely,
because it has been a great unforgettable experience where we have
learned so much things like helping people or improve our empathy and
I recommend to everyone.
Project by Óscar, Diego and Samuel
Good Morning everybody, we are Samuel, Óscar and Diego and we are going to
explain our project assessment. We worked with the little sisters of the poors a
groups of nouns in the nursing home in Ronda.

groups of nouns in the nursing home in Ronda.
Here, this is our index. We will divide the presentation in three parts. First, we will
assess if we could (or not) get our goals. Later, we will evaluate the group. We will check
if we worked as a team. We will also assess our mates’ work. Finally, everyone of us will
evaluate his own work. Let’s start with the goal achievement assessment.

if we worked as a team. We will also assess our mates’ work. Finally, everyone of us will
evaluate his own work. Let’s start with the goal achievement assessment.
Now, we are coming back to December. At the end of 2018, we decided our
objectives, which were too much.We wanted to:
objectives, which were too much.We wanted to:
Do a little concert. We planned to play some instruments. For example, Óscar was able
to play the clarinet and Iker, who also came with us, could play the piano or the trumpet.

Other idea was to cook some crepes for them. In our opinion, we might help them to have
a joyful time if we made them a meal more different than they are used to eat.
a joyful time if we made them a meal more different than they are used to eat.
In addition, we thought about having interviews with them in order to have records about
how Ronda was when they were childs and teenagers. With this idea we achieve two
goals. They have someone to talk with and we could have new information about the
depelovement of our city. Moreover, we wanted to spend time with to make them feel
less lonely. Finally, we wish go with the nuns to La Cañada to get some money for the
old people’s home.

less lonely. Finally, we wish go with the nuns to La Cañada to get some money for the
old people’s home.
During our work of volunteering helping old-people, we have several problems. The
first problem we had was the time. The time was a really difficult problem to surpass
we only did two days of volunteering so we can’t do all the activities we wanted to do.
The activities as we told you before was to did a concert meanwhile we explain some
music’s concepts, cooked some crepes with them and interviewed them about
how ronda change during the years.
As well as the problem with the time we had other problems with the crepes activity:
some old-people can’t eat crepes because are too sweet for them if they have
diabetes or they aren’t able to cook the crepes because of their low mobility.
Also we had problems with the concert because the only place that we can do
that concert was the church that are at the old-people home and the church was
being repaired and it hasn’t got anything to project the presentation about music
that we prepared and another important thing but isn’t as important as the problem
we talk before was that some old people haven’t got a good hearing so they can’t
enjoy the music a lot.

that we prepared and another important thing but isn’t as important as the problem
we talk before was that some old people haven’t got a good hearing so they can’t

We prioritized what the nuns told us. For example, if the nuns considered more
important activities like going to La Cañada to collect food and money, we always
do those activities.

We can improve we some little changes. We should have manage better
the time. We had many activities to do just in 10 hours. In fact, we spend
around 14-15 hours but it wasn’t enough to complete all the projects. The
most important idea for future students who want to participate is that the
nuns know what is needed in the nursing home so if you have to plan your
objectives, you should ask them. Other recommendation is to focus in two
or three goals and do your best in them.

Considering the other two goals, they were successful. We were able to fill
the van completely and we also collect much money.

We went another they to help them. That day, they were being visited by the
three wise men so we helped them to open the present and we spent some

Teamwork has many potential advantages over individual working. Teamwork
is essential to develop skills such as communication, collaboration, critical
thinking and creativity.
Additionally, an important characteristic of group work is the ability of
members to evaluate each other’s performance. It is the time to assess
the contributions of colleagues.

the contributions of colleagues.
Some criteria for assessing contributions may be:
I will assess my mate Samuel. I will use the criteria he
has just explain
has just explain
a) Attendance at meetings and punctuality.
Samuel comes to all the meetings we had. He always was on time. He participates
in the activities with the nuns but he also was very important while we were
doing the presentation. He has never missed any meeting, he neither was late and
he avoid wasting time.

b) Effective communication and contribution to discussion.
Samuel have participated in all the discussion and he likes showing his own point
of view. We haven’t had any argument and we normally follow what nouns proposed.
However, when we had to make a decision, he always gave his opinion.

c) Production of work within a specified deadline.
Samuel has the ideas very organized in this mind. That help us to make plan
and some points to follow before work. He remember us the things to do and
propose some ways to do them. I think Samuel was effective in the money
collection and he demonstrated he is hard-working. Samuel treated the
volunteer enough seriously to be a great participant and he also was
kind, helpful and easy-going.

d) Contribution to the elaboration of documents.
Samuel is responsible so he wanted to do as much as he could. In addition,
he has never complained about the distributions of the part or what he had to do.
He do his best every time we start a new part of the project and he is not satisfied
until we end our work. He is constant and we couldn’t have done this
volunteer without him.

And now it’s the time to talk about Diego
a) Attendance at meetings and punctuality.
Diego was always on time in our meetings, I should say too punctual. Most of
the times we met, he compel me to be prepared more quickly so we could arrive
early, Because of that most of the times we had arrived before the others.

Diego always had ideas to improve our volunteering work, he also did a
intermediary role in our discussions of how we could do a better job. But
most important, he explained his ideas very well, so we known what

d) Contribution to the elaboration of documents.
As a I talked before, Diego was the pillar at the moment we were doing our

nothing. Thanks Diego!

CONSIDERING YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
Initiative and Self-motivation
I believe that I have worked hard both in the preparation of the presentations
for the oral presentations and in the volunteering to help the nuns and the
elderly. At all times I am open to participate in all meetings and activities.

Tone and Intonation, Posture, Space management
I think that now I have a better tone and I speak more fluent.

but then the second improve a lot. During this presentation I have tried to
dominate the space and the posture to look confident.

Grammar mistakes
During the previous two expositions I had some grammatical errors more
serious and others simpler. But I've always tried to improve them to

Anxiety and Stress management
I think I have improved a lot at this point, despite being one of the most
difficult for me. I think I'm less and less nervous when I speak in English.

Initiative and Self-motivation
I tend to be a very shy person and I have a hard time making conversation
with someone, but at the time of doing this work and talking to strangers to ask
for help, I found motivation to do so and although it was very difficult to try to
start a conversation with them, I did it One time, then another and in the end to
get it I felt great happiness. Thanks to this work I have learned that shyness
is a barrier and that to overcome it you have to jump over it, you will fall a
thousand times but at a thousand and one you will achieve it.

Determination at the time of interacting with people and area
As I have been saying before, at the time of interacting I felt that I was missing
the words and I was blocked but that only at the beginning, when I began to gain
confidence, I was able to speak with them and ask them to collaborate with us.
At all times I was determined to talk to others to ask them to help the little sisters
of the poor but it was at the end that I felt more motivated

evolution, only a small progress

how I sang in the previous presentations, with a very weak voice for
those who do not remember it.

The truth is that in all presentations I have stayed in my comfort zone and

Grammar mistakes
This aspect I think has also improved, since I have reviewed everything

Initiative and Self-motivation
I’m not an extrovert person and I don’t like to show my opinion or,
at least, I’m not used to express myself in big groups with strangers.
Although, I have done an effort in order to try to say my ideas and
defend my point of view. I have worked hard and, in my opinion,
I made the grade. I was interested on volunteer and I
wanted to enjoy this experience.

I have been as open as possible and I have interact with many
people, for example, I went alone with one noun to ask for money
and food to the supermarket while the rest were in couples.
Every time I don’t know what to do, I asked someone how could I
help. I tried to learn something when I talked with a new old person.
The harder time was to interact with the ill ones who didn’t know
very well what was happening.

of our society but it is normally forgotten, At first, we
weren’t totally sure about if we could make the grade
and we might have been helpless. However, while we
were performing the project we realize that every
action you do to have a better world, even if it is
little, improves our world. In addition, every time
we saw a old person having a good time or a nuns
who thinks we we were doing well, it makes all the
project worthwhile. Moreover, I think we have
helped to fund the nursing home and we also
made elderly’s life less monotonous.
The past is past, we are human and we can not
remake our past, we can only look to the future
and decide how we want it to be acting with the
lessons we learned. Our lessons learned have always
been to help others, whatever their problem, to be
more patience and to have more empathy with
other people. However we would focus on the real
necesities of the old-people instead of the things
we thought were correct

We have learnt not to prejudice someone
because of their profession. We used to

Throughout this project we have felt many feelings
in our work as volunteers. One of them was the
frustration of not being able to carry out the ideas
we had prepared and instead doing what the nuns
told us, being the most necessary for the elderly.
Another of the feelings we had was annoyed when
we saw how everyone passed us when we handed
out the brochures. Another feeling that we perceived
very vividly was the empathy when putting ourselves
in the skin of the elderly, so we could feel that they
were in solitude and with a deep sadness but we
were their ray of light, we made them company,
this is what we leads to the most important feeling,
personal satisfaction. This satisfaction was obtained
when we saw how our little grain of sand contributed

Most of people could think that a volunteering
in a old people’s home would not help to
three students who want to be scientists.
However, we have a different opinion.
First of all, a scientist has to work in a team.

Of course, but we would not recommend that they do

PROJECT BY: MARIPAZ AND NEREA
Good morning! My name is Maripaz and her name is Nerea. We are going to talk about our project in Catalina Guerrero Aviles Association.
This is our index, these are the topics that we are going to talk about.
Before volunteering , our main goal was to break the elderly's routine and entertain them.
We think that we have achieved a good result.
During our project we had a series of difficulties ,for example: coordinating our schedules
with of our classmates and the timetable of the bus.
Another difficulty was the traffic caused by the latest purchases.
We had another problem with our craft too, we had thought to make a nativity scene, but as we didn't have enough time, we had to do a Christmas tree.
Recommendation:
It's a great opportunity to empathize with older people, devote your time to other people
You meet new people who are also volunteering or who live or work there.
You leave your comfort area.
In the case of Nerea the first day she was more shy but in the end she ended up taking a nice memory.
Motivation and initiative
From the first moment that the teacher told us to volunteer for me and nerea, it seemed like a good idea because it had not occurred us before to do it.
From the beginning we got along well with all the staff and although interacting with the elderly at the beginning was a bit difficult, we just surpassed it and even made friends
Yes of course ,if we don’t believe in our work, who will do it?
Nerea: I think I have improved in pronunciation, tone and I don’t have so many mistakes in grammar, but I'm still very nervous and do not handle space and posture very well.
Maripaz:In my case I think I have evolved in the pronunciation, tone, posture and to control my nerves when speaking in public but I don’t dominate the space and the grammatical failures.
Volunteering is an activity that everybody should do at least once in their life where we help people who really need it.
We strongly recommend the experience of volunteering for these reasons:

PROJECT BY GEMA, MELISSA AND ELENA.
We did a project with the scout association the pleyades. Our original goals were having a great time with children, stop being so shy and let off steam of our problems.
We have achieved them because we were able to talk, share experiences and spend a lot time with those children without shame.
We involucrated in this project together and because of this we have similar thoughts and we have the same goals.
The biggest difficult that we found was controlling the kids and solving they problems, because at first they didn't trust us.
We have worked equally in the project but actually we had a little problem with the text and the powerpoint. Finally we could solve this problem.
Our principal motivation were spending time and taking care of those children and seeing their smiles when they played.
To interect with those childre, we have to trust ourselves and our own work, and it was really dificult. But finally we got it.
Considering our performance, we have improved a lot during this year like for example: Our pronuntiation, our grammar mistakes, our tone and intonation which were improved talking louder; our posture and space management also improved because before we didn't like to talk in public.
In our project, we have learnt in contact with the nature, treating every children the same way and being empathic with those children.
During our volunteering, we have felt success withthe work which was done because while we were doing our project, the children were enjoying our games.
For us, practicing the volunteering is a way to learn and change our mind and some of our points of views.
PROJECT BY MARIA PAN, MARINA GARCIA Y MARTA RUIZ.
This is the index
1.Our first achievement has been to overcome our shyness, meeting new people and talking to them.
2.The only problems were due to schedules, since we wanted to do everything together and it was difficult to agredir
3.Something we could improve, solve problems without getting nervous, controlling the situation and thinking about the solutions that could be.
4.We only had one problem on the skating rink, a child didn't know how to skate, an one of us went on the track and helped her to skate.
5.Among us we have communicated very well, since we have been together for many years. Also with the association there has been no problem since we have communicated with Lucia who is very nice and nice.
Maria:I really wanted to do this volunteering because it seems very interesting. I have envolved thanks to volunteering since I think I have advanced a lot personally.
Marta: I have had a lot of initiative to work as much as possible. I was very excited to know how they worked and what I had to do in AYUCA.
Marina: I think that I had good initiative, because I had never done something like that, and it seemed interesting to me and I desired to do it.
María: As for the presentation, many things have improved. At the beginning I had many grammatical errors and pronunciation errors that I have been correcting little by little.I also always get very nervous in the presentation and this is less now.
Marina: I think you can always enhance more, but in terms of pronunciation I think I have improved a bit. Related to tone and intonation I am currently in the procesos if improving it as well as position and space management.
Marta:I think that there has been in me a great change related to exhibitions before an audience. Observing my pronunciation and my intonation, honestly I still think that they aren’t good. My grammatical mistakes I think are less equal my nerves and strees in front of the audience.
1.Of course, we think it's very important to believe in what you are doing yo try to get the best out of it.
2. We think we would try to make things better, but even what has gone wrong can be learned and no doubt it has made us improve
We have learned that with little can make many people happy.
We have learned to put myself in the place of others.
And to know more about the person that I am.
For us the best word that describes what we have felt is gratitude, since we have realized that to help others you just have to be willing to give.
Our opinion about volunteering is that it is a different experience and it makes you feel grateful day by day with the small and simple things that we have.
Surely it will help us in our career since we will have to relate to people and we will know better how to help someone in a situation.
Of course because it is a very beautiful experience and that everyone should live once in their life.

PROJECT BY...
ELOISA FERNÁNDEZ
AND
MARÍA TORRES
Eloísa
María
I think that I have got some evolution in tone and intonation because in my first presentation I said a lot of “ummm” and I have tried to change it. Other evolution could be the stress management although I think that I will always be nervous when I speak in front of an public in any language.
Throughout the year I have envolved with my nerves. Before of that I was very nervous and my voice some times didn´t come out, now I´m better and my anxiety has been reduced.
I believe in our project because when I saw the smiles of elderly people and that they wanted to see us to change a bit their days, it was very rewarding and it's for that I went every morning there.
I believed in our project because I like to help people when they need it and our work in the center it wouldn´t be difficult so I thought that our project would be well.
Improvement ideas. If we went back to October, what would you do in a different way?
Maybe I would have changed the project, because I think I would have felt better doing another project because I had never spoken for a long time with an elderly person and I didn't know how to act. But for me, it has been a beautiful and different experience in which I have met many people, and if I thought better it, maybe I would repeat it, I don't know.
If we went back to October I only would change the time, I would spend more time working with elderly people because I think that the nine hours that we worked with them they weren´t enough
I have learned to communicate better with elderly people, that they need us because they feel lonely and that I don't want to become older.
A thing that I have learnt is that life is very short and we should live the moment. If you work in the center you learn to value your grandparents and you understand that they will no be eternal and therefore you should spend the most time with them. One day one of your grandparents will be able to be one of the person who has the odious disease such as the Alzheimer´s and when you get at home she or he doesn´t know who are you.
One feeling that I have experienced was pity because when a few days passed, many people who are there didn't remind us.
Whereas, other feeling was happiness because they have a sense of humor and they are funny.
I felt very grateful because it is gratifying when you help someone and this person says you oh thanks thanks, or kisses you all time.
My opinion on volunteering is very good, because I think it is the best thing that all people can to do by another person who needs your help and if we don't cost anything to help, why not to do it?
I think that we should do volunteering in our free time or on holidays, you help to improve the world with your actions.
In my case I have thought to be a volunteer in civil protection this summer
Relate this experience to your future career.
I think that this experience won't help me in my future career, but It can be useful for when I'm studying my career for give me points.
I want to do the career of physical education and then I want to be a policewoman, I think that to be a policewoman and a volunteer are related because in both cases you improve the word a little.
Yes because it is a beautiful experience but no because it is a project of many hours for a second of baccalaureate. Therefore it would be a better project for another school year.
I agree with Eloisa, because we have a lot of subjects for study, but this experience learn you some importants things of the life.
NEXT PROJECT BY...
MIRIAM GONZÁLEZ
AND
BEATRIZ VERGARA
Of course, because it is a project that shows that all people have theo a decent and free education. In addition, we should all dedicate a littleOUR

Miriam González Muñoz. Beatriz
Good morning, we are Miriam and Bea. As you already know we have carried out a charity project and now is the time to evaluate all our work.
SPANISHS LESSONS
Our project is divided into four parts: 1. Goals achievement assessment. 2. Team effectiveness assessment. 3. Personal achievement assessment. 4. Feedback.
Our original goal was teaching Spanish to Muslim women, and introduce them to the workplace but we couldn’t carry it out because of the lack of Muslims women. We couldn’t do our best but we adapted the project with new goals like, teaching Spanish to Ali, a Muslim child, and give extracurricular classes to all kinds of people.
We think we have achieved 90% of the new objectives. Despite the problems we were able to teach a few and different people.
On the one hand, having to adapt a complete project to new objectives, because nobody was offered to the Project and also, to set a comfortable schedule for all of us since each had different priorities.
On the other hand, thanks to Jose Luis we met a Muslim woman who offered us her son to teach him. Therefore, we managed to teach Spanish to a Muslim. Also, by having such different students, we learned something from each one.
We believe we could improve by announcing our services and preparing classes with more activities.
The group has an influence on the individual, that's why Miriam's aunts wrote together. As they had different ages and degrees of disability, they wrote and shared different ideas, therefore, writing was better.
Nowadays, collaboration skills are often used to do good teamwork. Communication: we had to communicate with disabled people, especially because in the writings they didn´t express themselves clearly.
Collaboration: we corrected the writings together, and explained the lessons to the children. In addition to the time of making this work, we collaborate together.
Critical thinking: a problem where we applied this skill was when it was hard for Ali to learn the gentilics of Spain, like Onubense. For this we use a map, and some internet activities.
To evaluate Beatriz I have to say that in this project she has often stayed in Ronda instead of in her town to do the job and this is a good point of her. About a bad point, I think that the nerves have made our explanation difficult.
Well, I think the same and that our pronunciation could be better. I think that something good about you is the motivation of wanting to be a teacher to give the best of you in this project.
We have both put a lot of initiative. We have stayed with José Luis twice, organizer of Root´s association, to evaluate what kind of project we could carry out. We have always had the motivation to provide good service to as many people as possible.
PEOPLE: We have been educated with all the students and with parents of Ali, notifying the mother by whatssapp days before when the classes were going to be. We have been patient with disabled women, as more time was needed for them to understand the errors of their writing. In addition, to the children we have explained each unit as many times as they were necessary so that they could understand them.
AREA: We have respected the order and cleanliness of the class. In addition, we have notified in advance of the day that we were going to use it. Also, we have communicated to the secretaries of the cultural centre the activities that we were going to do in case they knew people who wanted our service. We are very grateful that they have offered us the room.
With this project I think I have improved to not move my leg like a nervous twitch.
I realized that before I was not separated from the computer, and now I try to move and explain pointing on the board.

We believed in our Project because it’s a good alternative to teach for free to people that can’t afford it.
We would change that there were some games on the street instead of always theoretical classes, so that the disabled people and Ali could interact with other people.
The first thing is to be patient with all our students because to be a teacher requires it.
The second thing is to be organized and prepare the lesson before the classes.
At least we have learned to express ourselves.
As they were all different from each other, we have had to put ourselves in the shoes of each one and we have felt like them.
We think that volunteering is a way of giving back to society what we have learned, and doing it well is something satisfying. Moreover, we have also participated in the collection of food. It is always good to help.
With the career I want to study in the future, this project has no relationship, but I think it's always good to have this kind of experience, because the future is not written.
With my career it is very related, since I want to be a good teacher in the future and this is a step to reach the top.

3º diapositiva
Hello, I’m Isabel and she is María and we are going to talk about our assesment of the project. In our project, we have planted olive trees in an area where there was a fire, near Benaoján. At first we thought that the project was going to fail for the quality of the soil but we don’t give up and we keep going. Seeing the result we agreed with our work.
4º diapositiva
For our project, Isa and I had some difficulties. First, the weather. This year, it was raining almost every day and we sometimes didnt go to the site when we met up. Then, the soil was very hard and dirty beacuase of the fire. The last problem was replanting the area. Isa and I didnt know how to plant trees. Our first trees were very difficult to put verticaly in the soil.
5º diapositiva
if we did this project again, we would improve the following:
-collecting money: if we had done the collection with more time, we would have earned more money, which means more trees.
-the type of tree: we should hacen chosen more variety of trees because olive trees take a long time to grow and throughout this project, we won’t see the difference.
6º diapositiva
Now, I am going to talk about Isa in the project. She was always very puntual when we had to meet and she never forgot to go to the land. We had a good comunication and we never had an argument about the project. But on our first day Isa was a little nervous because she felt stressful because she didnt know how we were going to do it. Isa and I organized very well so I didnt have any problems with the date of presentation. Isa colaborates very well with the invertigation and the documents. We shared the work equally.
Throughout this experience, my partner maría has been helping me. she has always very punctual and she has collaborated in everything with me. She has done her job very well and I had a great time with her.
7ºdiapositiva
Conserning my personal performance, I think that I learnt a lot of things about countryside, olives, planting trees..etc At first I didnt believe in our project because I thought the idea was really difficult to achieve. I believed that we couldnt replant the area. When we spent two days in the countryside, I was really motivated by replantig project. And, finally we replanted the area very well!!
About my presentation I think I have improved my pronuntation and my acents, and i learnt to control my nervousness. In my first presentation i didnt control it at all and i believe it was worse than today.
When we started the project we didn’t think that we would get that far. At first in october-november I felt really nervous because I don’t to speak English and I feel embarrassed. In the second project I felt sure of myself and I wasn’t nervous. I think that I have and improvement in my pronunciation.
8º diapositiva
If we had gone in October and we had planted the trees earlier, they would have grown more because the weather was better in November than in February.
9º diapositiva
three things that I have learned:
- when we take care of this world we all benefit from it
- thanks to this project we have improved the environment a little
- every effort has its rewards: a better world
10º diapositiva
First of all, we felt unsure because we didnt know if our project would be a good one. Then we felt stressful because of the weather, but finally we felt proud and happy.
11ºdiapositiva
Volunteering is one of the best thing that we have done in English class, and we would repeat this experience again.
12ºdiapositiva
Regarding my career, this type of project isnt associated because i want to be an engineer. But I think that this experience was unique and i learnt a lot.
No, because I would like to study architecture, but even so it has been a good experience.

AIDA MARTÍN
ABIGAIL RÍOS
MARÍA MEDINILLA
DAVID VERDÚ
Hello!
We are Abigail, David, Maria and Aida. And this is our project
assessment in
which we will analise our work in the group scout
pleyades ronda.
The
first objective we had was helping the instructors because they
weren´t to many
and they had a lot of work.
Also
we wanted to spend quality time with the kids so they could learn
while they had
fun.
And
to be honest we wanted to do a good job in order to have great mark
in our
English classes.
We
were successful at helping the instructors as we took a lot of work
out of their
shoulders. It is true that the firsts days we were more
of a charge for them since we
didn´t know what to do. But once we
pick up the pace we became a real help. To
improve maybe we should
had go to the reunions before the events.
In
this one we were also very successful. We connected very fast with
the kids and
we could develop a great friendship. Some of the kids
were problematic at first but
once we gamed their respect everything
was easier.
As
a team we had to go thrown many situations where we had to
cooperative to
overcome our tasks. We did a good job since we were to
understand each other and
translated to our job. We were asolid block
ready to take on our activities apart from
that everyone was ready
to take step forward and this iniciative was very positive for
the
overall working of the group.
David:
In my opinion I did very well specially because I was always full of
energy and I
think that part of that positive energy went to the kids
and others instructors. My
relation with the kids was very good
because they saw me as something close to a
giant, and because I was
very cooperative with them. With the instructor I had good
relation
thanks to my collaboration. What about you Aida?
Aida:
In my case, I think that I did as good as I could because I am very
shay and I
have try collaborate as much as possible. I believe I was
doing a good job because the
kids were having fun. With the
instructors I talked each day I went and we are very
nice. And you
Maria?
Maria:
In my opinion, I like a lot playing with kids and I have enjoyed a
lot. Especially I
have a great relation with Leire because she was
very cute and adorable. With the
instructors I had a more distant
relation but still we made a good job together.
Abigail:
In my case, I think that for me has been easier because I have
already been
several years and I Know all the monitors and the kids.
I have a good relation with the
people working there and this has
made the project easier for me and for the group.
Aida:
In my case, I think that I improve significally in general, because I
am not good
at English and this year I am trying to do as best as I
can. A part of that I am trying
control my nerves and not showing
them.
Maria:
Having in mind that I am very shy and it is very difficult for me to
speak in
front of people, I am making an affort in doing this
activity and I try to surpass
my-self and I think I am improving.
Abigail:
I think that I had improve at manugine my nerves and I have a better
level of
English. In the previous presentation I move a lot and I
showed that I was really
nervous. Now I more calm and I can control
my-self. I have achived this by focusing in
my respiration.
David:
In my case, I have been able to structure better my expositions. The
way we
have designed our projects have showed me that I have to work
them and try to
memorize my lines instead of improving like I used to
do.
Back
at the first term, we didn´t have much fate in this project because
we thought
it was too long. But at the end, as we saw how good it was
going, we started having
more fate until now. At this point, we
believe that we did a great job at the activities
and the
presentation.
Improvement
ideas:
We
could have meet for doing the presentation with more time, so we
weren´t on-the-
clock. Also, we should have amisted together to the
meeting more times instead
different times. And finally, we should
have organized our presentation so we didn´t
exceed the time of
class.
Thing
we have learn:
Firstly,
we have learn to speak in public in a more relax way and present a
theme like
profeionals. Also, our pronunciation has become quite
better, especially in some words
like goals our achievement. At last,
we have learn the experience of being a volunteer
and what it means
to be in charge of something close to a jole.
Feeling:
The
main feeling we had during this project was happiness. Happiness from
the kids
but also from the feeling of doing a good job and having fun
as we were working.
Opinion
on volunteering:
We
believe that volunteering is a vital activity for society. It show
how people in
ready to work and sacrifice themself for others without
a profit.
Career:
David:
In my career, I will be treating with a lot of people. Therefore,
this
experience, treating with kids and some adults, will be very
beneficial for me.
Aida:
To be honest I think this project won´t give me many advantages or
experience
for my future, because I want to work at prision and this
hasn´t have a relation with
kids. I prefer working with grown-ups.
Maria:
I still don´t know what I will be doing but I believe that this
experience will
be beneficial for a lot of different job.
Abigail:
I want to study enterprises administration and I think that this
project will
help me when I have to present date or the staff to the
public related with m
business.
Recommend:
We
really recommend this experience, since there are a lot of
possibilities and
alternatives to take on. Volunteering has a lot of
faces and we think that there is one
for everyone.
This
is the end

-Self Evaluation:
-Francisco:
I think that my preformance on the proyect was good, it could've been better since I
managed the money budget badly.
As for the presentations I think I'm better and omre experienced with english but I'm just as nervous.
-Abraham:
Since the first presentation I've got much better with pronunciation and vocabulary.
I have also improved with improvisation. Getting better at English also helped me with my nerves
I'm more calm because of it.
-Team Evaluation:
-Francisco:
I think Abraham did a good job;
He was always punctual, he taught me how to plant trees
and he put a lot of effort on gathering people.
It is admirable how much effort he put into the presentations.
The volunteers did a great job and even helped with the budget problems.
-Abraham:
I think that Francisco's work was important.
We both benefited from working together.
While I tought him to plant trees he helped me practice for the presentations while we prepared the Powerpoints.
He was always punctual and we worked really well.
The Volunteers did a great job, they were always ready to cooparate and they even helped to pay for an extra tree
so we are very happy to have worked with them.
-Final Goals.
Cleaning the Park.
Planting 6 Trees.
-Goal Archievement assesment
We managed to clean the park safely.
We planted 5 out of 6 trees.
-Feedback:
One way to improve our project would've been better organization.
If we had planned better we could've planted more trees.
Something else we should've done is search for a better place for this project.
While everyone reached the place on time, it was very inconvenient for us to go to las Errizas. This combined with bad weather resulted on us working in longer sessions that were weeks appart from each other.
-Conclusion:
We consider the project a moderate success, we managed to plant most of the trees we
wanted to plant and we cleaned up the park the best way we could.
I would recomend this project to new students next year.

Our goals were that the people enjoy with the technologies and learn to use them. We have achieved this in large part since they have advance a lot and have had a nice time having fun and knowing a new world through social networks. However, we can't say that we have achieved it one hundred percent since som people didn't learn everything that was expected.
Maybe, the people to whom this project was aimed to learn much due to the short time. That's why our proposal for improvement would be to give. But still they all enjoyed a lot and learn something and that"s what matters.

We have formed a good team, she has always been on time eve though se had to come every time we had to do the project. At the time of teaching people she was more nervous at the beginning but it was soon taken away and she was always attentiv so that everybody understood everything.
In addition she was always eager to help them to make the most of the time that we spent with them considering that time passes quickly.
Gemma has always helped me when I needed it. Because at the beginning I was very shy and fortunately I could overcome it and she always helped me to the maximum and she also tried the lessons not be boring but the funniest as possible

For my part, although at first i didn't know how to explain things very well, i ended up getting confident and i knew how to do so that they understood me. In addition, i was very attentive so they didn't have any problem.
In my case I think that I have improved because at the beginning I was very embarrased at speaking in public. Now I am a little more confident.
As we have said before, it would have been far better to give more lessons, since many people didn,t know the basic about computers and they needed more hours to learn better. Although even so have progressed quite a lot.
I believe that I have envolved especially in the nerves at the time of exposing since although I continue getting nervous, I have been able to control myself a little more and this isn't easy for me since English is seem to me very difficult and that makes me more nervous.

We believed in this project success because nowadays technologies are present in our life daily , now almost everyone uses technologies. Even just ask for a medical appointment is faster and more comfortable to do it online.
My experiences have been very good and i have felt very well, helping these people to use the technologies has been very satisfactory since I believe that this helps them in their daily life and it makes their lives easier.
I would recommend this project because as well as helping people, you have a fun and enjoyable time.
In my case, this experience isn't related to my future career, however for her, this is more important.
This experience is very important for me because in the future. I would like to study social worker. I think that is fantastic to help people is something they need letting anyone take benefit from it. Specially those people who couldn,t afford paying one.

- Our goals were to help Llopis's grandmother that she felt comfortable with us and that our help would help her.
- The difficulties we found were that we didn't know much about domestic tastes but little by little we started to improve.
- Our recommendation are that you don't have to be very nervous and that before you start with the project you have to know more about domestic tastes, to get the tastes done better.
- We have always been punctual when it comes to staying with Llopis's grandmother.
- Llopis and me have always agree on the time to do the work.
- Also say that Llopis's grandmother has understood us with the schedule, because we have some complicate schedule because of football and studies.
- I think we have a good initiative and motivation because I really wanted to do this project.
- David and me have had a good relationship whit my grandmother.
- Considering my presentation I think I have improved a lot compared to the first project. But I still have problems with the posture.
- If I went back to October, I would change the work schedule because it has given us problems to reach an agreement.
- The three most important things I have learnt have been: ironing, cook a paella and put a washing machine.
- The best feeling that I have experienced in this project has been to se that my grandmother has been helped thanks to us.
- My opinion about volunteering is that it is a good job that helps people who need it.
- I think that this experience will help me in my future career, because I have learnt many things.
- I would recommend this project to students next year because it is a very beautiful and enriching experience.

My original goal was boots painting in children aht haven´t got resources to pay for painting classes. But it was really difficult to find a place por it. So I decided to participate in AYUCA where a wonderful staff participate and there wasn´t any difficulty for me.
Although I think that my work wasn´t really difficult and I didn´t need an special skill, I tried to make my best. I have to admit that I was quite puntual, even he first day when I arrived there wasn´t nobody there. I dodn´t know nobody there but I tried to talk wih them and have a good comunication.
I was quite motivate for this because helping people is something that makes me feel really well and helping people that suffer from cancer is something really motivated for me. So I tried to make my best and do a lot of things that could help. When I interacted with people I tried to smile and be nice and also tried to learn the tour for the walk to be sure about what I was doing.
Abou my presentations, it was the first time I had to talk in front of my classmates and it was the time when I was more nervous. But I think that I was having my nerves under control. I have improved my pronunciation too, even more in past verbs and I have corrected my worst mistake in the first presentation that was a word in Spanish.
If I were back to octuber maybe I will change my way to do things in order to time because I have left everything for the last minute and sometimes has been quite stressful. But the rest wilñl be in the same way because I have learnt how trea with sicks, how interact with people politely and you feel when somebody receive help from you.
My opinion abour volunteering is that everybody have to do some volunteer action in their lifes to experience this feeling because I am sure everybody would love it.
Although my future career is not related with this proyect, in my opinion is not important beacuse is something tahta I have learnt and will contribute for my personal learning. And for mi is obviously that I will recommend it for stundents next year and for everybody beacuse as I said beforeit has been a wonderful experience for me.
